Q. How do I install my vinyl?
A. Our aquarium backgrounds are ready-to-install, require no adhesive or tape, and adhere to the OUTSIDE of your tank.
Do NOT attempt to install the vinyl on the inside of your tank - all products are intended for use on the exterior of the tank only.

Q. How does the background adhere to the tank?
A. Aquarium Vinyl backgrounds are self-adhering using microsuction technology. They aren’t static cling, and they don’t require any tape or adhesive to apply! The vinyl will not come off the tank until you remove it, and it can be easily removed and re-applied.

Q. When will I receive my order?
A. Our products are made-to-order, and our average production time is 3-5 days. We ship most orders using UPS Ground, if available, and shipping time is up to 7 days depending on where you live. If you need your background faster, please select one of the expedited shipping options at checkout. To request rush printing (fees apply), please email info@aquariumvinyl.com. or submit a custom order request.
Q. What is your return policy?
A. Due to the customized nature of our products, all sales are final. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns or exchanges. Refunds and replacements are handled on a case-by-case basis. If there’s an issue with your order, contact customer service at info@aquariumvinyl.com and we’ll be sure to make it right.
Q. Do you ship internationally?
A. Yes! If you don’t see your country listed in the shipping options at checkout, you can contact us directly at info@aquariumvinyl.com to determine your shipping cost and place a custom order.
Q. What if I mess up my installation?
A. We provide a complimentary application squeegee with each purchase, and our aquarium backgrounds are repositionable, so you can apply it, take it off, and re-apply it several times until you’re satisfied with the result! You can always contact us at info@aquariumvinyl.com for help with your installation, or use the contact form on our website.
Q. Are your backgrounds reusable?
A. Yes! Our products can be applied, removed, and re-applied multiple times. This means you can change up your tank’s theme any time you want! We recommend storing the product rolled up in its original tube if it is not in use.
Q. Can I use my own photos or artwork for an aquarium background?
A. Yes! We love custom orders. Contact us at info@aquariumvinyl.com, or use our Custom Order Contact Form. Please read our terms and conditions before submitting your image. There is a $10 image processing fee for custom images.
Q. Can you create a custom image for me?
A. Yes, we offer graphic design services. Contact us at info@aquariumvinyl.com, or use our Custom Order Contact Form to get a quote on your project.
Q. Can your backgrounds be backlit?
A. Yes!
Q. Can you print on other materials?
A. Yes, we offer other options in addition to our reusable self-adhering vinyl including poster paper, permanent adhesive vinyl, canvas, polyester banner, etc. Contact us at info@aquariumvinyl.com, or use our Custom Order Contact Form to get a quote on your project.
Q. Where do you get your images?
A. We get the images for our aquarium backgrounds from a combination of web-based sources. We purchase the rights to use the images you see on this site, and some are Creative Commons/Free for Public Use/Royalty Free. Some photos were taken ourselves or by people we know. Our tank decals and stickers are one-of-a-kind, made by our in-house designers.
